Plant Back Better

Gusto sang Chinese Taipei nga istress and importansya sang pangontra sa climate change para sa seguridad sang pagkaon. Nag amot sila sa pangkontra paagi sa pagpromote sa “Plant back better” (PBB) initiatives kag maghatag akto sa pagmitigate sang vulnerabilidad. Para ini mag nami ang pagsuporta sa kaugalingon paagi sa disaster-resilient nga utan kag plantation sang mga bulak para makahatag sustenable kag uswag nga pagdako sang komunidad.

Nag kolaborasyon gilayon ang Chinese Taipei sa Pilipinas paagi sa public-private partnership para mag dumala sang pilot project sa Barangay Lanit, Jaro. Iloilo City.

Naga focus ang amuni nga proyekto sa mga punto:

1. Mabuligan ang komunidad nga pirme naiguan peligro
– Imayuhon and pagnami sang kapasidad kag pangkuntra sang emergency preparedness paagi sa maalam kag disaster resilient nga plantasyon sang bulak kag utan.

2. Sa pagpagamay sang peligro kag kahandaan sa emerhensya:
– Maghimo sang resilient nga komunidad gamit ang lokal nga alamon kag rehiyonal nga efforts kontra sa natural nga disasters.

3. Pagkatapos maigo ang desgrasya:
– Para mapanami ang pag gawad sang mga ekonomik nga mga aktibidades, plantasyon sang mga utan kag suplay sa pagkaon.
– Para ma gawad dayon ang modelo kag aktibidades sang ekomomiya sang komunidad kag maka mintenar sang sustenable nga operasyon.
The Chinese Taipei wants to elaborate the climate adaptation countermeasures for food security. Thus, they contributed to promote “Plant back better” (PBB) initiatives and call for actions on mitigating vulnerability. This is to enhance self-sufficiency through disaster-resilient vegetables and flowers plantation to foster sustainable and inclusive growth under APEC.

And so, the Chinese Taipei worked with the Philippines on a public-private partnership to conduct a pilot project at Barangay Lanit, Jaro, Iloilo City.

The PBB pilot project focuses on the following items:

1. Helps risk-exposed community
– Enhance capacity building and emergency preparedness countermeasures through smarter and disaster-resilient plantation of flowers and vegetables.

2. At phases of disaster risk reduction and emergency preparedness:
– To build a resilient community with local knowledge and regional efforts against natural disasters.

3. After disaster strikes:
– To effectively and efficiently recover the microeconomic activities, vegetable plantation, and food supply.
– To quickly recover the microeconomic model and activity to maintain a sustainable operation.
